NPD Seeking Grant to Help Combat Opioid Use

The Nashville Police Department has applied for a Local Law Enforcement Equipment Grant. Police Chief Amy Marion says it is an allocated grant in the amount of $2300. If approved, the grant would help the department obtain Naloxone (or Narcan) kits, a medication that quickly reverses the effects of an overdose from opioids. It would also provide additional tourniquets for officers. Chief Marion says that would help the department assist anyone needing medical assistance before EMS can arrive.
