Pike County Judge Dewight Mack reported on several courthouse improvements during Monday’s regular monthly quorum court meeting. Mack says upgrades to flooring and painting are almost complete. Work will begin soon on a new HVAC system.
“We are nearly completed updating the offices in the courthouse. We are now working on the Collectors Office and will be finished. We plan on holding an open house in the future and we hope the people of Pike County are pleased with it. We are using in-house people and saving the county money.”
Pike County Sheriff Travis Hill spoke to the quorum court about computer needs and funding to match a grant in order to purchase bulletproof vests. J.P.’s approved $6,000 for vests and $4800 for computer needs.
The quorum court also approved an ordinance that will add an additional week of vacation for employees that have worked over 18 years (total of four weeks).
