Prescott Schools Close Due to Large Number of Students Ill

Due to the increasing number of students that are ill, the Prescott School District is the latest school to dismiss classes because of the flu. Prescott schools will not be in session today or tomorrow. Horatio schools had closed last week after 300 students were out sick.

The latest information from the Arkansas Department of Health shows widespread flu activity with a growing number of school absenteeism in the southwest counties.

To date, 23 influenza-related deaths have been reported in Arkansas this flu season, including one pediatric death.
