Dr. John Hearnsberger talked to the Nashville Rotary club on Wednesday about EGD, a procedure used to examine the lining of the esophagus. He also talked about Barrett’s esophagus, a condition when the tissue in the esophagus is replaced by tissue similar to the intestinal lining. It is often diagnosed in people who have long-term gastroesophageal reflux disease.
