Tornado sirens in Mena went off Thursday afternoon, June 6, 2019 around 3:50pm
The National Weather Service notified the Mena Fire Department to sound the tornado siren after numerous sightings by the public.
The Arkansas State Police, Mena Police Department and Polk County Sheriffs Department officials toured an area between Mena Regional Hospital and Aubrey Tapley Park on the north end of Mena. After surveying the area, officials determined the tornado did not touch down or create any damage to the vicinity.
