During a special called meeting on Monday, the South Pike County School Board approved Brad Sullivan of Hot Springs as the new superintendent on a 5 to 2 vote. He accepted the position following the meeting. Board President Steve Conly said Sullivan is being hired on a two year contract.
Both Sullivan and Bill Lee were interviewed during an executive session. Sullivan will replace current superintendent Roger Featherston at the end of the school year, who was not involved in any of the hiring process.
Sullivan currently serves as the Education Renewal Zone Director at Henderson State University, where he works with 16 school districts. He has spent the last 24 years as a school administrator, also previously serving for four years as assistant superintendent at Fountain Lake School District.
