Spring Break at Dierks Lake

Following recent rainfall, all of the US Army Corp of Engineers Tri-Lakes are experiencing high water levels. Natural Resource Specialist Trey Shelton says due to the rising water levels, they ask boaters to exercise extreme caution and watch for floating debris. There is an increased boater presence on all area lakes during spring break and he reminds boaters to be aware of other vessels and follow all state boating rules and regulations. Shelton also reminds lake visitors that children under 13 must wear a personal flotation device at all times while aboard a boat.

Sites 1 through 51 in the Jefferson Ridge Recreation Area at Dierks Lake will remain closed this week due to flooding.
