UA Cossatot hosted over 1,000 high school students from across the state at the 8th Annual Colts Classic FFA Career Development Event on Friday, February 15th. Students from all across the state gathered at the UA Cossatot Amphitheater for the welcome by Chancellor Dr. Steve Cole before dispersing to the different locations for contests.
“The Colts Classic is an important event to our college and community, and a way for our collegiate FFA to stay connected with the high school FFA chapters,” said UA Cossatot Agriculture Instructor Kelli Harris. “We couldn’t do this without all of our generous volunteers or the support of our local partners, UA Cossatot employees, and the community.”
The event is organized and hosted by the UA Cossatot Collegiate FFA. There were fifty-six schools from across Arkansas and one school from Missouri that participated in twelve different contests, such as forestry, vet science, horse judging, and floriculture.
Plans are already underway for the contest next year.
