Barry Groomes speaks to Nashville Rotary Club

Barry Groomes of Hooten’s Football magazine was the guest speaker this week during the Nashville Rotary Club meeting.

Groomes stated the 7-4A conference, which includes three of the top five teams in the state, is the toughest conference in Arkansas. The 7-4A conference includes Joe T. Robinson, Nashville, Arkadelphia, Ashdown, Fountain Lake, Harmony Grove Haskell, Malvern and Bauxite.

Groomes said this Friday’s matchup between Nashville and Arkadelphia is a huge game.

Groomes also told Rotarians that he doesn’t believe the season will play out to its regular conclusion in December with championship games being played, due to COVID-19.

Groomes stated Arkansas is producing a lot of quality D-1 players. He said Arkansas ranks 10th in the nation per capita.
