Arkansas COVID-19 Update

At a press conference at the State Capitol Wednesday afternoon, Governor Asa Hutchinson reminded Arkansans to re-think the risk of travel. Hutchinson says that of the new cases, most are associated with out of state travel.

Dr. Nathaniel Smith, the Secretary of Public Health in Arkansas pointed out that although there are 33 confirmed cases, there have been 236 negative tests returned. Dr. Smith says not to panic if you hear that someone has been tested.

UAMS Director Cam Patterson reminded Arkansans that there are hotlines set up to help residents with health information. You can also use UAMS Health Now online for information and testing.

Governor Hutchinson concluded Wednesday’s press conference by assuring Arkansans that they’re working to help families and businesses with assistance and possibly loans.
