Blevins School District implements new schedule
The Blevins School District will be implementing a new schedule change, affecting both elementary and high school students. Superintendent Stephanie Dixon says the district will transition to a blended learning model on Fridays, beginning Friday, October 23rd and continuing through December 18th.
As a result of staff feedback, Blevins School District is implementing this change to assist its staff with the added responsibilities this year due to the pandemic. Dixon said the change for Fridays will allow teachers to better prepare for both onsite and offsite students. These blended learning Fridays will provide students with the choice of virtual learning from home, or by the standard onsite method. Students who choose to learn from home on Fridays will not be counted absent as long as their daily work is completed through the Learning Management System. Instruction for blended learning Fridays will be 100% virtual for all students, whether they choose to learn from home or from school. Onsite learning will continue Monday-Thursday.
Dixon said the Blevins district will continue to provide onsite instruction every Friday to those students who need, or want, to attend school. Buses will continue to run their regular routes and times. School meals will be served for onsite and offsite students. Offsite students will have the option to sign up for lunch and breakfast pickup. To sign up for the Friday meal pickup, parents should contact Ashley Dunham 874-2801.
