Board appoints MHS Principal as interim superintendent for the Mineral Springs School District

On Tuesday night, the Mineral Springs School Board, in a special meeting, unanimously voted to remove Ruby Dean from her position as Interim Superintendent. Subsequently, the board passed a resolution naming JonDavid Amerson as the new Interim Superintendent.

Amerson shared details about his professional background and his previous roles before joining the Mineral Springs School District.

He then outlined the district’s future objectives, mentioning that teachers would return to campus on August 12th and that an open house is scheduled for August 15th.

Furthermore, the board approved a motion authorizing Amerson to replace Billy Lee’s signatures on the Diamond Bank and Farmer’s Bank Signature Cards. The motion received unanimous approval from all members present.
Finally, the board decided to incorporate a $10,000 stipend for the Financial Mentor role into the salary schedule.
