Body found in Little River County
Little River County Sheriff Bobby Walraven is seeking the public’s help in locating 33-year-old Chance Cathey. Cathey is a person on interest in a homicide investigation.
Sheriff Walraven reported his office received a tip on January 2nd concerning a body in a well on Little River County Road 106.
Walraven stated they pumped the well down and discovered what they thought was a body at the bottom. The next day, they took an excavator and excavated down to the bottom, where they were able to retrieve the body of a white male.
Walraven said the body had been in the well for one to two weeks. The Little River County Sheriff’s office is seeking information concerning missing persons in Arkansas and Oklahoma.
Cathey is know to visit Foreman and Tom, Oklahoma and is known by area law enforcement.
According to the investigation, a vehicle that was seen in their area was found abandoned and officials think Cathey is connected to the abandoned vehicle.
The Arkansas State Police and the area drug task force are assisting in the investigation. The body has been sent to the Arkansas Crime Lab for identification.
