Washington Fire Department Receives Grant for Brush Truck

The Washington Fire Department has received an Arkansas Rural Services Block Grant. The department has been awarded $72,577.16 to purchase a brush truck.

The program provides funding to incorporated towns and rural communities with a population of less than 3,000. Additionally, the community population must be at least 51% low to moderate income. This grant is made possible through a partnership with the Arkansas Economic Development Commission Grants Division.

The awards ceremony is scheduled for October 24th at the State Capitol.
