BREAKING: Suspect Arrested After Allegedly Ramming Vehicle, Hitting Deputy’s Patrol Car

A man who led authorities on a search Thursday morning after reportedly ramming a vehicle and striking a deputy’s patrol unit has been taken into custody, according to Howard County Sheriff Bryan McJunkins.
The suspect, identified as 26 year old Dylan Jared Cardoso of Dequeen, was arrested following a series of incidents that began in the 6 a.m. hour near Edwards Road and Highway 371.
According to Sheriff McJunkins, a deputy responding to a separate call in the area was attempting to stop and speak with a witness when his patrol unit was struck by a white truck, believed to have been driven by Cardoso.
Moments earlier, Cardoso was reported to have rammed a woman’s vehicle, then exited his truck and approached her in an aggressive manner, allegedly making inappropriate sexual gestures. The woman was able to escape and report the encounter to the sheriff’s office.
The white truck was later found wrecked near the Highway 355 junction, closer to town. Cardoso had fled the scene on foot and reportedly asked a passerby for a ride.
Law enforcement issued an alert to residents in the area, urging them to lock their vehicles and homes and not pick up anyone on foot, as Cardoso was believed to be intoxicated and possibly armed with a handgun.
Thanks to public assistance and continued efforts by deputies, Cardoso was located and arrested without further incident.
Sheriff McJunkins expressed appreciation to the community for remaining alert and sharing information, and emphasized that the investigation is ongoing.
More details are expected to be released as the case develops.
