Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is observed as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Stacy Harberson, Radiology Director of Howard Memorial Hospital in Nashville, said the greatest risk factor for having breast cancer is simply being a woman. According to Harberson, women should begin having annual mammograms performed once they reach 40 years of age, or sooner if there is an immediate family member who’s had it:
