CANTEX to Invest $120M in Nashville Facility, Bringing 110 New Jobs to Southwest Arkansas

In a major economic win for Southwest Arkansas, CANTEX INC, a leading manufacturer of American-made electrical conduit, fittings and boxes, has announced plans to invest $120 million in a new facility in Nashville. The project is expected to create 110 new jobs within the first year and marks the company’s first manufacturing site in the state.

CANTEX has acquired the former Husqvarna building at 630 Highway 27 Bypass in Nashville. The company plans to invest heavily in new equipment and upgrades to support the production of electrical products. Operations are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025.
The Arkansas Economic Development Commission (AEDC) made the announcement Thursday morning. In an interview, AEDC Executive Director Clint O’Neal said it’s a big win for Nashville and all of Arkansas.
Following the announcement two years ago that Husqvarna would close its Nashville plant, local leaders immediately worked to form Developing Howard County in hopes of attracting another industrial partner to the expansive facility. O’Neal praised those leaders’ efforts and the entire local response, which led to this investment by CANTEX.
In a statement, CANTEX President Dave Merker said the new facility aligns with the company’s long-term growth strategy.
“We’re excited to expand our footprint in Nashville, Arkansas,” Merker said. “This property will enable us to better serve our customers and drive innovation and excellence. We’re also thrilled to work alongside the State of Arkansas and the City of Nashville as we invest in the region’s future.”
Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders applauded the announcement, calling it proof that “Arkansas is open for business.”
“This is exactly the kind of opportunity we’re working to bring to every corner of our state—building engines of growth and creating new jobs for hardworking Arkansans,” she said.
The Nashville facility will play a key role in expanding CANTEX’s national footprint. The company, which began production in the 1950s, is recognized as a leading provider of electrical conduit systems and fittings across the United States.

Nashville Mayor Larry Dunaway said CANTEX’s arrival represents a turning point for the community.
O’Neal added that Thursday’s announcement by CANTEX is one of several big economic wins for Arkansas this year. He said Arkansas is proving itself to be a prime location for industries and manufacturers.
