CASA of Pike and Clark County hosting free parenting group

CASA of Clark and Pike County will be hosting a free parenting group that starts Monday, April 15th. This event will be held at the Murfreesboro Baptist Church located at 500 S Washington Ave in Murfreesboro and it will start at 5:30pm.

CASA which stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates is a national association in the United States that supports and promotes court-appointed advocates for abused or neglected children. CASA maintains contact with a child, as well as their caregivers and family so that they can identify needs and resources that will strengthen the family, always with the goal to reunify the family whenever safely possible.

CASA plans on meeting weekly for 8 weeks along with the group called MYTE, Managing Youth Trauma Effectively. This will be for any caregiver who would like to learn more information about trauma and how it affects children and their behaviors and wants to strengthen the relationship with their child.

Additional information can be found on their website www.casaofclarkandpike.org or on their Facebook page casa of Clark and Pike counties.
