Charges Filed In Connection With Pike County Shooting

Felony charges of 2nd Degree Battery were filed Wednesday in Pike County Circuit Court against 32 year old Dionne Coulter of Prescott.

Authorities say Coulter shot an individual last month during an incident at the EZ Mart in Delight.

Investigators say Coulter told them he was approached by two individuals who were making threats toward him and using racial slurs.

Reports state Coulter retrieved a handgun from his truck and showed it, thinking that would end the incident. However, he said the shooting victim and another individual continued their insults and making threats. Coulter said when the victim started walking towards him, he fired a shot striking the victim in the lower leg.
