Charges Filed In Connection With Washington Jewelry Thefts

Hempstead county authorities have charged a Washington woman in connection with a series of recent jewelry thefts. Deputies said 31 year old Verlenia Mosley is charged with Residential Burglary and Theft of Property. The charges were filed after a homeowner noticed an extensive collection of jewelry missing since the latter part of 2019. The owner found several of her stolen jewelry items at a pawn shop. The store owner advised her to report the thefts to deputies.

Records indicated the items had been pawned by Mosley.

Deputies say approximately 60 thousand dollars worth of jewelry items had been taken from the Washington residence.
