Charles Hornbeck Pleads Guilty to Sexual Assault

38 year old Charles “Si” Hornbeck, former Lady Rattler coach charged with sexually abusing three students during his employment at Murfreesboro HS pleaded guilty to 5 counts of 1st degree sexual assault and one count of 2nd degree sexual assault. Hornbeck was arrested in September of 2020 and maintained his innocence throughout proceedings until Monday. Hornbeck had a jury trial set for October 27th.

He has been sentenced to 20 years with 8 suspended within the Arkansas Department of Corrections on each charge. Sentences for each charge are set to run concurrent with one another for a total of 12 years on all charges. He is required to serve 3 to 4 before parole eligibility comes into question.

Upon taking a plea deal Hornbeck was forced to face his victims as they read aloud their impact statements. All victims who came forward stated the shame and guilt they lived with for many years and how it was a catalyst in their coming forward. They also hoped by doing so that Hornbeck would be kept from abusing any more victims.

Hornbeck, upon release, will be required to register as a sex offender moving forward.
