Child support lands Nashville man in jail; now add drug charges

A Nashville man arrested over the weekend for failing to pay his child support now has more serious charges to contend with. Local officers arrested 53 year old Derek Wright on a Nashville city warrant for Nonpayment Saturday morning. Chief Amy Marion said during the process, Wright was also found to be concealing a firearm in his waistband, along with having suspected methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia in his pants pockets.
Those discoveries have resulted in Wright being held at the Howard County Jail on felony charges of Possession of Firearms by Certain Persons, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms.
