City of Dierks considering grant to upgrade downtown street lights
The Dierks City Council held their regular monthly meeting on Monday.
Police Chief John McKee stated there were a couple of drug arrests made that involved the confiscation of methamphetamine and 2 pounds of marijuana. McKee mentioned that one of his part time employees, Matt Webb is resigning but he’s looking to hire Jake Eudy to take his place. McKee provided an update on the process of finding tornado sirens.
Mayor Ronnie Cogburn stated that he is concerned about sewer rates going up. Cogburn said the sewer rate is $17 for the first 1000 gallons and $3.60 per gallon afterwards.
The City of Dierks is currently looking into applying for grants and to have some of the light fixtures in town upgraded to L.E.D lights.
