City of Murfreesboro Announces New Operating Hours, Security Measures for Bass Lane Dumpster

The City of Murfreesboro has announced changes to the operating schedule and usage policies for the public dumpster located off Bass Lane, effective May 1, 2025.

Under the new policy, the dumpster will only be accessible Monday through Friday from 4:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. It will remain closed on weekends. The city emphasizes that the dumpster is strictly for bagged household trash only.

In an effort to reduce illegal dumping and improper use, security cameras will be installed at the site. Officials warn that tickets will be issued to anyone violating the rules, including those who leave garbage or bags on the ground outside the gate or dumpster.

Residents are urged to follow all guidelines and respect the facility to ensure it remains available for community use.
