City of Murfreesboro seeking funds for street paving project
Murfreesboro Mayor Rodney Fagan is scheduled to meet this week with state officials regarding the city’s request for funding to pave several streets. The city was previously informed that it would not be receiving money this year however, Mayor Fagan said with the state wanting to meet to discuss Murfreesboro’s request, he’s hopeful the city is still in the running for the state money.
During this week’s meeting of the Murfreesboro City Council, aldermen accepted the resignation of Misty Wilson from the Tourism Commission. The chamber of commerce will recommend someone to fill Wilson’s spot.
Council members also voted to waive the vendor’s fee for people who plan to participate in the upcoming Farmer’s Market. The event is being coordinated by the Murfreesboro Chamber of Commerce.
