City of Nashville considering moving red lights on Main
Nashville officials are looking into the possibility of making changes to the red lights that are currently on Main Street. During this week’s city council meeting, Mayor Billy Ray Jones announced that he and Public Works Director Larry Dunaway have been visiting about the changes. Dunaway says the topic was initially brought up because he was approached by a Main Street business owner who suggested moving the Hempstead Street light one block to the north:
Dunaway says there has also been the thought about putting up a flashing light at the Sypert and Main intersection, but it’s a little more complicated there due to the railroad tracks and their right of way. The public works director stressed that any changes to the existing red lights will not happen immediately.
