City of Nashville passes Arkansas Legislative Joint Audit
Monday, during the Nashville City Council’s regular monthly meeting, Director of Finance Kimberly Green reported for the month of February the total revenue was $803,724.13 and the expenditures were $763,724.26. The revenue exceeded the expenditures by $39,999.87. Also, according to Green’s report city sales tax increased by 1.6 percent which was $2,513 dollars more than February 2023. County Sales tax decreased by 2 percent which was $1,931 dollars less than February 2023.
Nashville Mayor Larry Dunaway presented a quote from Billy Ray Jones for 3.95 acres of land that he is willing to sell in the amount of $40,000 dollars. Dunaway explained what all the city uses on that particular property.
After further discussion aldermen approved a motion to purchase the 3.95 acres in the amount of $40,000 dollars for the city.
Dunaway also presented the Arkansas Legislative Joint Audit, and he explained that there were no findings, and the audit was good.
In conclusion, Dunaway asked for the council’s approval to destroy old records from public works that ranges from 1993 to 2020 which were old files, service orders, paid invoices, landfill tickets, extra charges added to water bills, adjustment files, penalty files, billing files, and draft files. There was a motion made by aldermen Donna Harwell and seconded by Joe Hoen to destroy the old records from public works.
