Coach Worthen Previews Conference Opener at Rotary Club Meeting

Wednesday afternoon, Nashville Scrappers head coach Aaron Worthen addressed the Nashville Rotary Club, offering an update on his senior high team.
The Scrappers enter their first conference game of the season with a 10–1 record and will open 7-4A play tonight on the road at De Queen. Worthen said this year’s squad features a strong mix of experience and youth, consisting of five sophomores, four juniors, and five seniors. He credited the team’s work ethic for their early success and said he hopes their approach sets the standard for future Scrapper teams.
Looking ahead to tonight’s matchup, Worthen said De Queen is a senior-heavy team and emphasized the importance of controlling the tempo. He noted the Scrappers will need to force the Leopards into uncomfortable situations and keep them from playing their preferred style of basketball.
The Scrappers will continue conference action next week against Hope and Magnolia. Worthen said he is hoping to earn his first victory over Magnolia, the three-time defending conference champions, when the Scrappers face the Panthers next Friday.
