Cortez hired as Nashville School District’s new resource officer
The Nashville School Board voted to accept the resignations of two certified staff members at the end of the current school year. Resignations were accepted from Junior High Head Football Coach and classroom Teacher Kirk Benson, as well as from classroom teacher and choir director, Amy Benson. Following a 37 minute executive session, the board returned to open session and voted to employ Lindsey Dorsey as a Math teacher and Rebbeca Fortenberry for the Resource Room.
In a non-action item, Superintendent Graham also informed the board that Hector Cortez has been hired as the district’s new Resource Officer. Cortez’s employment was made by Chief Amy Marion through the police department. His first day with the school district is the Monday following spring break.
