County Coordinator of the Call speaks about fostering needs at Nashville Rotary meeting
Holli Boyett with the CALL in Howard County spoke to the Nashville Rotary Club this week.
Boyett reported the CALL is now in all 75 Arkansas counties and she explained the foster care system and what the CALL does.
Boyett said the number one reason children are placed in the foster care system is neglect. She said there are over 4,000 kids in Arkansas currently in the foster care system, but there are only about 1,500 foster care homes.
Boyett said there are two times has many kids in foster care than there are foster care homes in Howard County. She said kids are transported out of the area if there are no foster homes available and if there are no homes anywhere in the state, a child may have to stay at the DHS office or in a hotel until a suitable placement can be found.Boyett also mentioned how you can help the CALL.
