Courthouses to Close for Memorial Day; Ceremony Planned in Nashville

Courthouses in Howard County and surrounding counties will be closed Monday in observance of Memorial Day.

Despite the holiday closure, Howard County rural trash routes will continue to run on their normal schedule. Residents are reminded to have their trash placed out by 7 a.m. to ensure pickup.

Local residents will also have an opportunity to honor the nation’s fallen service members during a Memorial Day ceremony hosted by the Mine Creek Paraclifta Chapter. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. Monday on the courthouse lawn in Nashville.

Community members are encouraged to attend as local veterans and citizens gather to remember and honor those who gave their lives in service to the country.
