De Queen Man Arrested Following Investigation Into Sexual Assault, Internet Stalking

A De Queen man has been arrested following a months-long investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct involving a juvenile, according to a press release from Chief of Police Scott Simmons.

On Friday, August 15, 2025, officers with the De Queen Police Department arrested Matthew Hallmark, age 23, at his residence in De Queen. Hallmark was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Sevier County Jail.

The arrest stems from an investigation led by the De Queen Police Department into charges of Sexual Assault in the 4th Degree and Internet Stalking of a Child.

Due to the nature of the case and the age of the victim, no identifying information about the victim will be released.

The De Queen Police Department expressed gratitude to multiple agencies for their support in the case, including the Arkansas Crimes Against Children Investigators, the Grannis Police Department, and the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation is ongoing.
