Declining number of athletes playing football throughout state

There’s a growing trend in Arkansas schools of fewer athletes playing football. While speaking to attendees at Saturday night’s Rotary Football Banquet, Scrapper Coach Mike Volarvich said there are 900 less high school football players now than in his first season as the Scrappers coach in 2015. That equates to a reduction of 22 to 23 players a year. The declining number of players is something that has impacted the Nashville program as well. Volarvich said the current senior class featured 35 players when they transitioned to high school. The number of senior Scrappers now stands at 13:

Off season workouts continue for the Scrappers who still have the spring game to go through before the school year ends.
