Delight man arrested for Internet Stalking of a Child
Pike County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a Delight resident on a felony count for Internet Stalking of a Child. 34 year old Jason Stone was arrested following an undercover operation where deputies pretended last month to be a teenage female. Authorities say Stone made sexual suggestions during the conversation on social media and eventually agreed to meet up at the parking lot of a Murfreesboro business. However, when he arrived, he encountered several law enforcement officers and fled the area in his vehicle. Deputies say they caught up with Stone after a brief pursuit. During the traffic stop and resulting arrest, deputies say they also recovered a bag of suspected marijuana within his vehicle.
Stone appeared in Pike County Circuit Court Monday. He entered a not guilty plea and is set for pre-trial on September 26th and a trial date of October 20th.
