Deputies Arrest Man Following Domestic Dispute in Howard County

A 46-year-old man has been arrested following a reported domestic disturbance in Howard County.

According to an affidavit, on December 5, 2025, deputies with the Howard County Sheriff’s Office, including Deputy Colt Kuykendall and Deputy Caleb Dinger, were dispatched to a residence on North Centerpoint Street in reference to a domestic dispute.

Upon arrival, Deputy Kuykendall observed a male, later identified as Ulices Avalos, exiting the residence holding a pistol. When Avalos noticed law enforcement, he went back inside the home. A short time later, Avalos exited again with his hands raised and was taken into custody without further incident.

Deputy Dinger made contact with the female involved, who stated that Avalos had returned home upset after being involved in an accident. She reported that an argument followed, during which Avalos allegedly became angry, damaged property inside the home, and armed himself with a firearm.

The woman also reported that Avalos fired the handgun outside the residence and made threats toward her. She stated that a physical altercation occurred, during which she was able to escape and avoid further harm.

Deputies located several spent shell casings outside the residence, indicating the firearm had been discharged during the incident.

Based on the investigation, Ulices Avalos was arrested and transported to the Howard County Detention Facility, where he was charged with terroristic threatening and aggravated assault.
