Developing Howard County approved for incorporation with the state of Arkansas

Thursday, the Developing Howard County board of directors met on the Nashville campus of UA Cossatot.

During the meeting, Howard County Economic Development Director, Vanessa Weeks reported she had been informed by the state that the Developing Howard County had been approved for incorporation with the state of Arkansas. She also presented the board’s by-laws and she told the board members that the paperwork for the committee’s 501-C3 non-profit status had been completed and was ready to file.

Board members heard from Dana Poindexter who is the regional manager for South Arkansas Community Development of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission. Poindexter encouraged the utilize the state’s resources to market Howard County.

Board members are currently working on a mission statement that will incorporate the idea of developing, attracting and expanding business by utilizing the competitive nature of Howard County.
