Developing Howard County Launches Countywide Industry Marketing and Workforce Attraction Initiative

Developing Howard County (DHC) today announced the launch of a comprehensive countywide Industry Marketing and Workforce Attraction Initiative aimed at supporting existing industries, strengthening workforce recruitment efforts, and positioning Howard County for continued economic growth.
The initiative is designed to promote Howard County’s industrial sector, highlight the region’s skilled workforce, increase awareness of local career opportunities, and create a sustainable platform that supports both current employers and future industrial recruitment efforts.
Working in partnership with professional media producers, local media outlets, educational institutions, workforce organizations, and industry leaders, DHC will utilize video storytelling, digital marketing, workforce outreach, hiring events, and community engagement initiatives to showcase the people, companies, and products that drive Howard County’s economy.
A key component of the initiative will focus on supporting existing industries through ongoing promotion and storytelling. Monthly features will spotlight local manufacturers, employee success stories, workforce achievements, leadership perspectives, product innovation, and the significant economic impact of industry across Howard County.
The initiative will also serve as a workforce recruitment platform for local employers. Professionally produced recruitment content will promote career opportunities in engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, logistics, skilled trades, supervision, and production while highlighting the quality of life and career advantages available in Howard County.
To further strengthen workforce development efforts, DHC will create and maintain a dedicated workforce and industry portal on DevelopingHowardCounty.com. The portal will provide information on career opportunities, workforce resources, educational pathways, participating employers, recruitment videos, direct links to company hiring platforms, and resume submission opportunities.
Throughout the year, DHC will coordinate workforce outreach campaigns, educational engagement activities, hiring events, and community awareness initiatives designed to connect employers with talent and strengthen the county’s workforce pipeline.
In addition to supporting current employers, the initiative will establish a long-term workforce marketing platform that can be leveraged for future industrial recruitment projects. By showcasing Howard County’s industries, workforce, educational partnerships, and ACT Work Ready Community designation, the campaign will create valuable marketing assets that help attract new investment and job creation opportunities.
“As Howard County continues to grow, it is important that we invest in both the industries that have chosen to call our community home and the workforce that makes their success possible,” said Vanessa Weeks, Director of Economic Development for Developing Howard County. “This initiative allows us to celebrate our existing industries, support their workforce needs, and strengthen our ability to attract future opportunities that create jobs and enhance quality of life throughout Howard County.”
Howard County recently became the first county in Southwest Arkansas to achieve ACT Work Ready Community recertification, demonstrating the county’s ongoing commitment to workforce development, employer engagement, and educational alignment. The new initiative builds upon that foundation by creating additional tools and resources to support workforce attraction, retention, and economic development.
By combining industry promotion, workforce recruitment, community engagement, and strategic economic development marketing, Developing Howard County is implementing a comprehensive approach designed to support business growth, workforce development, and long-term investment throughout Howard County.
