Dierks City Council approves proposal from County Trash Services
Monday night, the Dierks City Council held a special called meeting in regard to sanitation services.
Mayor Ronnie Cogburn allowed Brad Pennington, who is the owner of County Trash Services out of Broken Bow, the opportunity to share what services his business provides.
Pennington informed the council that he bought out B&H Trash Service in Sevier County in 2019 and he also added that Dierks was not far from their working area. Pennington stated that he will send his big truck over to do residential routes and his small truck out of Lockesburg would come and do dumpsters. He also mentioned that CTS provides their own trash cans and dumpsters as well. He also said that they are already set up with Howard County and are ready to serve Dierks.
Shantel Grice who manages CTS said her ideal is residential trash will be picked up on Thursdays. Mondays or Tuesdays will be the option for the second dumpster pick up. Grice said that all she would need is a list of names and addresses and she could have everything set up within a week.
After further discussion, aldermen of the Dierks City Council approved a motion to accept the proposal from County Trash Service with the exception of a pending contract until they come up with a reasonable agreement.
