Dierks City Council approves raise for Water Department Secretary
Monday’s meeting of the Dierks City Council included a brief executive session. Upon returning to the open meeting, council members voted to give Water Department Secretary Tracy Parsons a raise to $14 dollars per hour, making the increase retroactive to the beginning of this month. Council members praised Parsons’ efforts at getting the department’s financial records up to date and for working to improve how the records are kept.
During other business at Monday’s February meeting, aldermen made adjustments on the sewer bills of two city residents. Two resolutions were approved that allows the city to sell property on Old Highway 70 North that was the location of a proposed new city park & and a resolution that authorizes Mayor Ronnie Cogburn to execute any legal documents on behalf of the city.
