Dierks City Police to start issuing citations in March for property violations
Members of the Dierks City Council held their regular monthly meeting on Monday.
Mayor Ronnie Cogburn explained to the council that the Variable Frequency Drive and a motor went out at Dierks Lake. Cogburn stated that the price for the VFD was $12,359 and the motor cost $6,075 which makes it a total of $18,434. A motion was made to purchase the motor and the VFD out of the water depreciation funds. All were in favor of the purchase.
Chief of Police John McKee told the Council starting in March the Dierks Police Department will start issuing citations to citizens that don’t keep their property clean. Fines could range anywhere from $200 to $1000 dollars. McKee also mentioned the tornado sirens will be in by the end of February.
