Dierks High School Competing for Grand Prize in T-Mobile 5G Contest

A big opportunity is underway for Dierks High School, and they’re representing not just their town — but the entire state of Arkansas — in a national T-Mobile 5G contest.

Recently, KMTB and KNAS had the chance to sit down with Jaron Tipton, a well-known figure in the Dierks community. Tipton serves as President of the Dierks School Board, is an active member of the Booster Club, and also holds a seat as an alderman on the Dierks City Council.

Tipton explained how Dierks High School became involved in the “Friday Night 5G Lights” competition — a national contest sponsored by T-Mobile to support high school athletics and connectivity in small towns.

As part of their selection, Dierks High School has already received $5,000 and was presented with a $25,000 check during halftime of last Friday night’s T-Mobile Magenta Game — bringing the community together in celebration.

But the stakes are even higher. Tipton shared what’s still up for grabs.

Tipton said this contest isn’t just about one town winning a prize — it’s about all the students, current and future, who will benefit from upgrades to the facilities.

Stay tuned to KMTB and KNAS for continuing coverage on the T-Mobile 5G contest and how the Dierks Outlaws are making a name for themselves on the national stage.
