Dierks man arrested in Howard County
A Dierks man has been arrested and charged with rape.
According to court records, 35-year-old James Edward Ward was interviewed on August 20th, by Dierks Police Chief John McKee and officer Brock Haley at the Dierks Police Department. Ward allegedly confessed that he had raped a 12-year-old girl at the Timber Ridge Apartments where he was living with the minor child’s mother.
In June of 2024, two female victims informed an officer with the Murfreesboro Police Department that Ward had sexually assaulted them two to three years ago when they lived with him in Dierks.
According to the affidavit, Ward allegedly admitted he had sexually assaulted one of the victims when she was 16-years-old in Dierks, on the officers body cam.
Ward was taken into custody and is being held in the Howard County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
