Dierks Man Arrested on Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop

A Dierks man was arrested on drug-related charges following a traffic stop conducted by law enforcement on Friday June 12th.

Officer Kyler Turner reported that he initiated a traffic stop on a gray Chevrolet Avalanche after observing that the vehicle’s license plate lights were not functioning. During the stop, the driver was identified as 31 year old Justin Dakota Lollis of Emmet.

According to the affidavit, officers detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Lollis allegedly handed officers a bag containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana. After being asked to exit the vehicle, officers reported finding a glass smoking device commonly associated with methamphetamine use.

The affidavit states that additional suspected methamphetamine was later discovered concealed within a cigarette pack collected as evidence during the arrest.

Lollis was transported to the Howard County Detention Facility. During a subsequent interview, investigators said Lollis denied ownership of the suspected methamphetamine and told officers it may have belonged to another individual.

Lollis was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, and tampering with physical evidence.
