Dierks Elementary School received School improvement grant

Recently, during the Dierks School Board regular monthly meeting the board approved two transfers out of the district and seven into the district.
JoAnn Walters Elementary School Principal Craig Dodson reported that the current enrollment is 284. Dodson informed the board that their first date with the Bailey Group will be January 10th.

Dodson also discussed the Elementary 1003 Funds which are School Improvement Grants for lower performing schools.

Dodson stated that last year these funds were allocated to Solution Tree but this year they would like to try another organization called the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching.

Dodson said that the NIET proposal will include a full needs assessment during the spring semester, several days of training over the summer, and coaching and observation prior to September 30th, 2024, in the classroom to ensure that practices are put into place as trained.
