Dierks School Board 7/20
The Dierks School Board met Tuesday night for their regular monthly meeting.
Board members approved a resolution listing all district employees who received a 5 percent salary increase for the upcoming school year. Board members also approved the milk bid from Hiland Dairy, the bread bid from Flowers Baking Company and the grocery bids from both Performance Food Group and Sysco Food Group.
Superintendent Jody Cowart recommend the board approve the bid from Mainstream Heating and Cooling to replace some HVAC units in the amount of $61,000. Cowart stated the district will use Esser 2 funds for this project. He also recommended the board approve the bids from Kirk Roofing and Construction for the JoAnn Walters Elementary School roof. Cowart reported the district’s insurance policy will cover $263,000, but the district will be responsible for $160,000. He stated the district will use bond funds from the elementary construction project to cover their portion of the project.
Cowart reported the district’s operating funds is down over $41,000, but the district is expected to transfer $485,000 to the district’s building fund.
