Dierks School Board approves increasing sub’s daily pay rate
Members of the Dierks School Board passed several motions at their regular monthly meeting Tuesday night.
Presiding Officer, Jaron Tipton made a suggestion to the board about increasing certified substitutes, non-certified substitutes, and bus driver substitutes daily pay. Tipton said he wants the district’s daily pay rate to match with Will Sub’s daily pay rate. Tipton said this will get their numbers up to where they need to be to meet Will Sub’s standards. After further discussion, the board approved a motion to increase certified substitute pay from $93 to $95 per day, non-certified subs from $88 to $90 per day, and bus driver sub to $54.67 for full day routes and $27.33 for half day routes.
Joann Walters Elementary Principal Craig Dodson updated the board on some of the changes that he’s made at the elementary campus.
Dierks High School Principal Gene Strode also provided an update to the board along with information pertaining to Homecoming.
In conclusion, there was a motion made by board members Jeffrey Mounts and seconded by Justin Simmons to accept two students into the district. All were in favor of the motion.
