Dierks School Board Approves Salaries, Calendar, and Audit at March Meeting

The Dierks School Board met Wednesday, March 18, for their regular monthly meeting, addressing personnel matters, financial updates, and approvals for the upcoming school year.

During the meeting, board members approved the resignation of Kayci Halcombe as a paraprofessional, effective February 25, 2026.

Superintendent Mr. Hill presented the district’s financial statements and provided an update on football field renovations. He said the district is currently awaiting architectural drawings and state approval before moving forward with the project.

Mr. Hill also discussed with the board the potential purchase of a van, noting it is an item the district needs.

Hill also spoke about the district’s overall progress and shared his perspective on how things are going.

The board also reviewed and approved the district’s 2024–2025 Legislative Audit. Business Manager Kayla Jones reported that the district received a positive audit overall.

In preparation for the upcoming school year, members approved the 2026–2027 school calendar, selecting “Option 1” as previously voted on by school staff. The board also approved both the certified and classified salary schedules for 2026–2027, each including a 1.5 percent increase, along with the 2026–2027 certified staff list.

In other business, board member Jeffrey Mounts recused himself from discussion before the board approved him to serve as a softball officiant. Mounts later returned to the meeting.

The board also approved the use of the gym and/or storm shelter as presented by Lindsey Stokes.
