Dierks School Board November Meeting
Members of the Dierks School Board held their regular monthly meeting Tuesday afternoon.
Joann Walters Elementary Principal Craig Dodson reported that the Elementary School has a total enrollment of 281 students. Dodson also reported that a trainer will be coming to the school on November 14th to train teachers on how to use the Standard Mastery feature of iReady. Also, according to his report, they will have a meeting with Bailey Group to discuss leader observation training and goal setting for going forward. Dodson also informed the board that the quiz bowl won 1st place at the event in Dequeen and that they raised $8,000 dollar at the Costume Carnival.
In conclusion, there was a motion made by board members Jeffrey Mounts and seconded by Laykon Graham to accept a quote from KLC for additional security cameras needed around the schools for $11,563.02. Another motion was made by Kara Tedford and seconded by Justin Simmons to approve a quote from Robins Plumbing for $22,483.48 for three tanks less water heaters in the kitchen. All were in favor of the motion.
