DIERKS SCHOOL BOARD REVIEWS FINANCES, APPROVES HANDBOOK AND BUDGET ITEMS

The Dierks School Board held their regular monthly meeting Monday night, covering a full agenda of financial updates, policy changes, and new approvals for the upcoming school year.

Superintendent Grover Hill informed the board that the district is currently in a good financial position.

Following the update, the board approved the financial report as presented by Hill.

JoAnn Walters Elementary School Principal Beth Shelton also addressed the board regarding updates to the student handbook.

After reviewing the proposed changes, the board unanimously approved the updated handbook.

Several additional motions were passed, including approval of:

A quote from GEO Sport Lighting totaling $175,600,

The 2025–2026 district budget,

Federal and categorical funding budgets,

The athletic budget,

And the appointment of Superintendent Hill to the DeQueen-Mena Education Service Cooperative Board of Directors.

The board also approved allowing a 3rd-grade student from out of the district to attend the Umpire School District.
