Dierks Teacher Arrested on Serious Charges; District Responds

A 35-year-old teacher in the Dierks School District was arrested on Wednesday, August 13, at approximately 3:18 p.m., according to the Howard County Sheriff’s Office.
Kathryn Elizabeth Winer of Umpire was taken into custody on a charge of engaging children in sexually explicit conduct for sexual assault in the first degree. Authorities confirm that the case remains under active investigation.
